My beautiful roses
I thought I would have a stroll around my garden yesterday the 1st of September to catch the last of the blooms. These roses are amazing they are doing very well this year. They seem to go on and on , see the un-opened buds yet to open.
Looking up towards the Pond
Looking up towards the Pond with the sun dazzling between the trees gives you a warm glow, days like these are truly wonderful. Autumn is approaching days are getting shorter, you would think that is it for the new arrivals. I did notice two female ducks( mallards) coming off the Island on the Pond. With that funny sound they give out as though they are nesting. I have yet to see , although the nights are getting chilly. mmm..
A Flame of Colour
These Beauties appear every late August which give a gush of colour to the garden.
Going back to a few days ago and the sun was making the garden wall very warm. I heard the sounds of Crickets , tiny they where with little red bottoms. This is the only time they appear when it is a partially warm day, and always in the same place. Fascinating as they rub their back legs together making this unmistakable noise. Pen your poem was a tribute to this little fellow.

Your garden is beautiful Sheila!! Your grass is such a lovely green and mine is brown because of lack of rain. The orange flowers look like wild columbines. Do you think that is what they are?

Hi Beth I think it’s all that lovely rain we have had here, the grass is very long in some places and very thick. I think the flowers are more likely to be Cannes , not sure. Hi Sheila, what a nice post, how sad it is though when things start to unwind in the garden, I’ve been dead heading like crazy trying to keep the blooms coming, but I’ve chopped down the Montbretia, and uprooted the Sweet peas, that I find sad as I love the perfume, There are gaps appearing where I’ve pulled out various plants, a geranium here and there, the lobelia that has gone straggly, and one of the saddest, seeing the swallows starting to hawk above the cliffs, getting gorged on flies before their journey across the Channel. I dread. the winter, But, to-day is lovely, so I am off into the garden to make the most of it, love to you and hugs to Wile-e from tango Ruby and me X

Your garden is still lovely. I’ve only got the one pot, but in an apartment, very limited. It is outside though and will remain even when Winter arrives. Have a good weekend,

What a delightful tour around your beautiful garden , such a romantic setting , I can imagine sitting there and writing romantic poems amongst the flowers and greenery.

It was wonderful to walk around your garden Sheila,(and also to see Carlin or some of his close relatives had come visiting. 🙂 ) … Those plants I put in last week have taken well, the rain has seen to them being settled in. AND I’ve been searching for ages online to find the name of the Grass like plant you’ve shown above, with the orange flowers,. and I found it Monbretia, only to see Arlene had already mentioned it. ( 🙂 ) anywho I have two clumps at either end of the garden, one flowers early, (direct sunshine) and the other is just flowering now, (near a shady fence) ….so colourful aren’t they? Hi Pen yes they are very colourfull it’s great really as everything is dying down up they pop. As you say they are always in a sunny spot in the garden. The petunia’s are holding on and of course my roses. Enjoy your week hope it’s not too wet. Hugs Sheila and Wile-e :)xx
