Here she is again the little beauty , my lovely Cacti . For only a short time with her delicate petals , a shade of pale pink.

24 hour wonder

It’s been raining here most of the day , and no let up during the course of next  week. Even Wile- e is looking very bored at the moment., lying on his rug. The garden is swampy under foot , well the pond needs a top up at least ,  the  water level was getting very low. Even the ducks were wondering what was going on and were un-able to swim around comfortably. The veg patch just out the back garden  is doing fine especially the broad beans and carrots , and are ready to pull. I can’t say the same about the tomatoes , Beth’s are looking so much bigger and better I must say. Well done Beth…

Freshly picked this Morning

I am off to the kitchen to cook my lovely fresh veg with gently fried lamb chop’s. If they taste as good as they look I will be one happy bunny. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday what ever the weather 🙂 Catch you later 🙂

The cacti flower is beautiful, such a lovely delicate color.

The veggies look great too, I must confess to never have tried lamb. It is very expensive to purchase here, much higher than poultry or beef, although they are expensive enough.
I have had 3 ripe tomatoes from my plant which is something of a miracle as the plants were so pitiful looking when i bought them.

I hope the sun comes out soon for you and Wile-e. It is so hot here it is miserable.

    Hugs,
    Beth

    The cactus looks fabulous, Sheila.

  3. Cacti look great but the freshness of the carrots are really mouth watering
So clean and crisp looking and getting my imagination going for a homegrown salad
    Cheers

Gorgeous Flowering Cactus Sheila, isn’t it such a shame it’s only for a short time. but then I suppose we appreciate it’s beauty all the more. This weather of ours is definitely doing good things for the garden, if only turning us all a tad rusty coloured. …. Hugs to you and to poor bored Wile-e, My girl used to be the same… I used to tell her as soon as it stops pouring down, but she simply hated to wait. In the end we’d go out and finally come home mud covered…but happy.. 😀 xPenx

  5. Great Cacti Sheila.. Nature is such a marvel.. and to turn out such an exquisite flower from such a prickly Cacti.. beautiful.. A shame its flower lasts such a short time… Much like the Butterflies.. such beauty but only within a window of time do we see them… Its been a rainy day here too today and all over the weekend too.. But the Garden is in need of it, as we here in the midlands have had a very dry couple of months and the allotments need it.. Dispite us watering and having lots of rain barrels… but we have had lots of Veg out all ready and the ones left in there need lots more Rain .. so… Im sat looking at the rain drops trickling down the window pain, and we have now a thunder storm too, but snug here today.. before I go to work later this afternoon..
Take care Sheila and thank you for all your comments dear friend. xox
